Logan Mason Public Transportation
Announcement - Beginning August
1, 2012 Senior Transportation is now Logan Mason Public Transportation
(LMPT).
Mission Statement
The mission of LMPT is to enhance the independence, opportunities and
lives of all residents with affordable, reliable and accessible
transportation. The LMPT team pledges to provide courteous service to
our customers and aggressively meet the changing needs of our region.
What is LMPT?
Logan Mason Public Transportation (LMPT) is the
result of Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois, Logan and Mason
Counties and Area Agency on Aging of Lincolnland coming together to
recognize a need for public transportation within the counties and
developing a program to meet those needs.
LMPT is a “Demand Response” system. This system
requires passengers call at least 24 hours in advance to schedule their
rides. When scheduling they will determine with the dispatcher the location
of pick-up, time of pick-up, any special needs and destination of the trip.
LMPT has a fleet of vehicles including 6 vans and 1 sedan. All vans are
equipped with wheelchair lifts.
Transportation is also available to
Community Action social dining sites, banks, grocery
stores, and for other necessary trips.
Funding for the Logan Mason Public
Transportation program is provided in part thanks to the support of United Way of Logan County, Area Agency on Aging
for Lincolnland, Logan County Senior
Tax monies and local support.
